The most common blood disorders of childhood are iron deficiency anemia, malignant disease and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.Numerous blood diseases are diagnosed and treated in pediatric hematology division, including but not limited to nutritional anemias (iron deficiency anemia, Vitamin B12 deficiency anemia), Acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Acute myeloid leukemia, aplastic anemia, Thalassemia (Mediterranean Anemia) and hemophilia.

After patients are examined in two “Pediatric Hematology" outpatient clinics, treatments are planned.Daily chemotherapy infusions and blood transfusions for patients are performed at day-patient chemotherapy room.Chemotherapy agents are prepared under sterile conditions at “Chemotherapy Drug Preparation Cabinet" equipped with HEPA filters by experienced chemotherapy nurses.

The unit is designed in line with needs of children in order to increase their quality of life throughout the time they spend at the hospital.At Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit with 6 beds that is completely equipped with HEPA filters, preparation protocols are unique for children with due consideration of diseases, stage of the diseases and their previous chemotherapy experiences.Our healthcare center is also accredited by The European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT).Full-match related donor, unmatched related donor and haploidentic and cord blood transplantations are performed with upmost care.
