The discipline deals with numerous body systems, physiological and diseased states of the immune system and immunological disorders (e.g. autoimmune disorders) that occur as a result of no or improper functioning of the immune mechanisms in children.

Tasks of Pediatric Immunology Unit and Tissue Typing Laboratory:

• To perform HLA typing, stem cell analyses and immunology-based tests that are required by Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation center by using up-to-date methods to support the center regarding the field of immunology.
• To perform HLA typing, lymphocyte cross-match analyses and immunology-based tests that are required by Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation center, wherein contemporary services are rendered at international level, by using up-to-date methods to support the center regarding the field of immunology.
• To provide patients with modern, fast and reliable health services by introducing the novelties in field of immunology to the hospital as soon as possible.
• To diagnose and treat immunological diseases at international level and to operate immunology outpatient clinic in this end.
• To take hospital-wide measures to cope with and eliminate immune system disorders or contagious diseases in a timely, safe and quickest manner.
